Ok, so I am about to purchase a 6933 and have almost made up my mind that I want to remove and replace the front sight post. I would like the gas tube block to have the front flip up with it also, that way I do not have to mount it on the rail. Along with this replacement I will be going with a Eotech or Aimpoint T1. Also replacing the Colt standard muzzle compensator with the KX3 Flash Suppressor. And of course replacing the hand guards and butstock.

Any suggestions on gastube/BUI set-up with rail system?

Please give me ANY suggestions or comments you have on these decisions. This is my first personal AR and I have to make it a Colt because I have had one issued to me for 6 years and they kick ass.

If you must replace all of that, I suggest looking at LaRue for pretty much everything.

So if you're taking the gas block off anyway, get a free float rail (like a LaRue 7.0), LaRue branded Troy BUIS (only so you order from one place), I personally like the KAC VFG and panels the best so I would get those. Not sure about a flip up front sight post, but if you can get the one that Colt is putting on the 6940, I would go that route.

I don't know what else to really say. I mostly leave mine bone stock and simply add a KAC RAS, Hogue grip, KAC BUIS, KAC VFG, KAC panels, Optic and a Gas Busters charging handle. The only flash hider I like are the standard Colt A2 that comes with it and I hate flip up front sight posts.

Anyway HTH!

I'd try to clone the MK18's new look:

DD MK 18 RIS in FDE
High quality gas block (or shave the factory Colt down)... LaRue or DD
Troy FDE or Knights front and rear sights
LMT SOPMOD stock
Optic of your choice

I'd also consider the SAW "Operator" package and reliability package (and would prob get the reliability package no matter which way I go)
