I have 3 ARs already but they are all fraken-guns and I am looking for a quality safe queen and anyone who owns multiple ARs and calls himself an AR fan should have a Colt in the safe.
Anyway, what are the differences between all the Colt models? I see 6920, 6921, 6940, 6520, 6933 and so on. I have looked on Colt's website and couldn't find anything so I am wondering what y'all can tell me or at least link me to a site that has most of the Colt models in a side-by-side specs comparison. Any info is much appreciated. |

The reference book "Black Rifle II" by Bartocci lays out in detail the specifics of the Colt military and commercial models. Its about five years old, so some of the newer models aren't covered.
The book will set you back about $60 and is an excellant reference for AR/M16 trivia and real engineering data. Its predecessor, "Black Rifle" covers early development of the AR/M16 through the Viet Nam war, also an excellant reference, although now more historical than anything else. |

Scroll down. I don't think the 6940 is on there. Basically it is a 6920 with a rail and flip up sights. |
