| Does anyone know the model or more specifically how many Colt HBAR's were made with A1 sights? Ive only seen two, were these early models? Any information would be appreciated, also as to what value a NIB model would be worth, Thanks, |

My reference doesn't list any HBAR model Colts with A1 sights. The first HBAR models were the R6552 and R6600 (according to the reference) and these were equipped with A2 uppers.
I'm not presenting this as fact, only as info quoted in one reference (Black Rifle II). Obviously if you've seen examples of HBARs with A1 sights, there's something amiss somewhere. |
| Yeah its pretty strange, i saw one of those references that your referring to and read that it listed the A-2 sights as standard. I bought my first Hbar in the late 80's or so i dont really remeber the date, within a few months the price escalated and i dumped it to double my money. I then found the first one of these hbars with an A1 rear sight it was at a gunshop near Montgomeryville, Pa. I passed on the purchase because i thought it was suspicious for i thought they all had A2 sights. The next one i found is my local dealers gun, i examined the firearm, however havent seen the box yet. Im going back over later ill get to see the box and Ill get photos of the gun as well and let you all know. Thanks for the imput! |
