I want to keep some spare parts handy. I think I should keep a hammer, pin and spring on hand. SAW carries the Colt knotched hammer and their own unknotched hammer. I know Colt puts in the knotch to help prevent a slam-fire. Wondering which I should get. Is it a big deal? Whats preferred?
Do triggers go bad? Should I get a back-up trigger, pin and spring? What extractor spring is recommended? Copper or Green? What other parts are good to have on hand? Thanks |

I know Colt puts in the knotch to help prevent a slam-fire. The notch is actually meant to stop the bolt group if the disconnector fails. All things equal, I'd prefer the un-notched hammer. On the other hand, I prefer a Colt Part over a non-Colt part. The notch is useless to me since I run all M16 carriers anyway. I don't know. I guess I'd take the Colt hammer. |
