Got this mount off a SP1 from 1967. Marked both Colt and Armalite. Any info on it would be great, along with an approximate value...don't really need it for anything and thought about selling it on the EE!?

Put $300.00 on it. Value is based on what someone is willing to pay, which varies. If it doesn't sell you can always lower the price.

I believe that is the mount made during Vietnam war by colt at the request of the Army. It was made to check the suitability of the M16 as a sniper system. I have a reference to it in a history of US sniping arms written by Peter Senich. Ill try to look it up later and post more about it

Thanks guys! I'd love to see what other info comes up on it!
I never put it together in my mind that coming off a '67 rifle that it could be Vietnam era! It's older than I am!
Wish I could have got the rifle it was on...

Never heard of or seen one like it.
So it is probably rare, but I do not know if it is valuable.
