Does anyone see a 308 in Colts future? I know years ago, Colt had the 7.62x39, but why not a 308? I would sign up for one! houghts |
I would be surprised if Colt made a production 308! As far as the 7.62x39mm and 222rem. I don't see them making either one of them again. But I wouldn't surprised if they made a 6.8x43spc firearm. |
I agree. I think that it comes down to product demand, and production capability. I don't know what the market is for .308 AR's, but suspect that it is limited. The appealing thing about the 6.8 SPC is that it's almost salable as a conversion package with a new upper & magazines, and maybe a new buffer & spring. From reading here and elsewhere, the problem with the 7.62x39 was the magazine & magazine well. You needed a Frankenmag. an AR top and an AK bottom. Or, you needed a curved magazine well that would accept curved magazines. Too bad, I liked the concept. As a consumer, I think that I'd buy another 5.56 or 6.8 before I bought anything else. |
