I was wondering if anyone had any information about a Colt M16 rifle, the model number is 711, what was their purpose and why where they made? How was it spec'ed, did it use M16A2 or M16A1 buttstocks and what rifling twist where they? From the one picture identifed as a 711 that I have found, it simply looks like a M16A1 rifle with M16A2 stock/grip/handguards. Also does anyone have any pictures of one of these rifles? Thanks for any info, if anyone has some.

A 7XX series gun should have post 1984 stocks, handguards, and grips.
