[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt upper or not?.

I've have a Colt AR, it's obviously a put together lower/upper have two finish colors. Is there any way to determine if the upper is actually a Colt, if someone in the know could tell me to look for stampings/markings and what they are I would be gratefull. Thanks Pluckmaster.

Thanks for the reply's I know the barrell is marked c mp, have to wait till work is over to check out the other markings.

It's a Colt, just two color's . Good news for me. Thanks for the help.

Just because the upper and lower colors don't match doesn't mean it didn't come from Colt this way. When they switched anodizing colors, there were a lot of "mismatched" uppers and lowers coming out on the carbines. Some were really ugly.
