I have a set of M4 handguards with the double heat shields glued in.  Was told these were genuine Colt when I got them--any way to tell for sure?  They also have a slightly shinier finish than Bushmaster M4 handguards I have.  Thanks in advance for any help...

The Colt M4 handguards look pretty much like the Bushmaster guards (finish-wise)

But re: the glue.............mine are as well, and have 'DO NOT REMOVE' stamped on the inside surface nearest the receiver.

I'd say they are a Colt product.

Most Colt H/Gs I have come across did have a shinier & smoother finish than other Mfgs.  & The heat shields are glued in as you describe. The Shiney finish seems to be a Colt exclusive.

The Colt handguards i have been issued on all my Colt carbines from the SP1 6001, 6420, 6450, 6520, and 6920 have all retained the black smooth shiney finish.  Some cheaper hand guards provided by Bushmaster are the same dimentions but are flat black and look cheap.
