Just got a call from Larry Knesek. Shipment of Colt 6920s due in this Thursday so I'm finally gonna get mine. I've had one on order from Larry since Sept. Not sure if all of the ones in this shipment are spoken for but it can't hurt to call if you are interested. Looks like I'm finally about to see what the Koolaid is all about. Will post pics when it gets here, prob early next week.

Update 1-10: I got the rifle today. It came slathered in shipping lube. Good fit and finish. Absolutely nop rattle between the upper and lower or in the handguards. Trigger actually felt better than either of my Bushmasters did when they were new. Born on bag date matches the barrel date stamp 12-05 so it's a recent manufacture. MPC stamped bolt and C stamped M16 carrier. The Koolaid tastes good!

Congrats! I'am far to impatient to wait over 16 weeks, but it's worth it! Mix a little of your favorite flavor and great ready to drink COOL AID... Because you will soon realize it's by far better then
others that try to say they are as good or better...

Cool. Keep us updated after your first range session. My 6920 is my favorite AR, and for that matter, my favorite firearm in my safe.

btt to add Larry sent me this:

"Colt went up $50 a gun this week and due to military orders they will not ship
any more 6920's until March. But they say in August, they will have enough
that we can actually stock them."

For those that are interested in a 6920.

Congrats on the new arrival. The finish on that 6920 looks perfect. Mine was made during the ban, so it is cosmetically challenged. Fit and finish could be described as "rough". However, it is my favorite AR, and it's a shooter--- no safe queens in my safe.

Does anyone else notice something very odd about that selector?

BigAL Got any more pics of that selector?

What's odd about the selector? Other than it stops after 90 degrees of rotation.

the "lobe" part extends way into the the middle of the selector.

I just thought it looked different (odd) from what i have usually seen.

Most selectors look like the following:

Man you can really spot the details. It must be the new heavy duty tactical selector switch.

Nice carbine, I want that new selector on my 6721.

When I bought my 6721 last March I had a choice of either getting the 6920 or 6721 and I picked the later.

The reason was just that I liked the A3 Tactical Carbine rollmark but I like the 6920 upper.

Congrats.

Dunno if this is common knowledge or I was just issued a wierd rifle but the last M16A2 I was issued couple months ago was a Colt ANAD rebuild and it had a selector like i've never seen. The selector has the pointy tip raised. I couldn't take a picture as I was on the FTX but I forgot abut it till now. Anyone seen these selectors before? It was a 3rd burst rifle.
