[ARCHIVED THREAD] - SP1 Twist Rate

Last weekend I bought a 1978 SP1.

I was looking for markings on it to indicating what the twist rate on the barrel is, but the only markings I see say:

C MP CHROME BORE

Anyone know what the twist rate on this barrel is?

Also, the lower is stamped .223, but I've read that the older Colts have M-16 chambers which means that they can handle 5.56 ammo. Will I be safe shooting 5.56 ammo in this gun?

1/12 5.56 chamber have fun with mil-spec ammo.
