I am thinking about one of these two models. A store a nib 6520 for a grand. Are the current models coming with m16 carriers, h buffers and m4 feed ramps? What are your impressions about this model? Also, another store has a nib 6551 target model for a grand. Are these the chrome lined models? Which of the two would you get? Thanks |

I have a 6520 and love. I used to have a MT6551 and it was a great rifle too. The MT6551 was discontinued in 2001 and will not have a chrome line barrel unless it was made before 1998. It will have a chrome chamber though. The one you are looking at is it a R6551 or a MT6551 ? The R6551 is preban and the MT6551 is postban. I wish Colt would make these again, it's the closest thing to a M16A2. For a grand though, I would get the AR6520. |

The Colt 6520 must be the best all around carbine package out there. Light weight, simple utility, excellent sights, and accurate with the best of carbines. The 6551 Blue lable in pre or post ban configeration is basically a Govt Model 20" inch nuetard bastard. Save your pennies on the 6551 and buy a real green lable 6600 H-BAR or a Bushmaster XM15E2 20"inch HBAR and have something really nice and accurate. |
