| Is the barrel diameter the same for a Colt model 6721 and the Sporter HBAR (particularly at the front sight housing)? I'm interested in changing out the front sight housing without a bayonet lug to one with. |

Which model do you have and which model do you want to use the front sight base (FSB)? If I recall correctly they should be the same 0.750" diameter common to the FSB. Changing the FSB is not a do it yourself job because the two taper pins location varies from gun to gun. You could probably do it yourself if you're going to use set screws instead of taper pins. Most shops use new FSB without holes and use a milling machine and a mill fixture to drill and match the two taper pin holes. |
