When did Colt stop making SP1`s? Will they ever make them again?

They stopped making them in the early '80's when they switched over to A2 production. I highly doubt Colt will ever make an SP1-style rifle again.

Production of the SP1 was discontinued in 1984, but some cleanup batches of carbines were sold in 85. Actually the SP1 was replaced with the Sporter II not the A2.

I highly doubt Colt would ever make an SP1 or similar variant (with different name) in a regular production run. However, they are making older models and reproductions in the 1911 line so I wouldn't say never to a limited run or custom shop run of "vintage" ARs in the future.
