I'm a little confused, maybe you can help me. Are all colt post ban 1x9 barrels non chrome lined? Are any post ban Colt barrels chrome lined? Is only the chamber chrome lined? how would you be able to tell if a barrel is chrome lined? |

Are all colt post ban 1x9 barrels non chrome lined? I've seen pre-ban conversion kits that were Chrome Lined Are any post ban Colt barrels chrome lined? A2 & M4 are, iIrc. Is only the chamber chrome lined? on some, yes how would you be able to tell if a barrel is chrome lined? After clearing wepaon, look down muzzle. If you see a dull silver coloured around the muzzle, she's chrome lined |

Are you sure about the MT6551 having a chrome lined barrel? I was under the impression that all post-ban Colts (with the exception of the MT6400, which I love dearly) have chrome lined chambers only. If the the MT6551 has a chrome lined barrel, well, that's exactly what I've been looking for! A post-ban Colt with a chrome lined 1/7" 20" A2 profile barrel! Oh joy, with newly kindled rapture warm! Well, that's a bit much, but suffice to say that I'd be very happy if it were so. Doesn't Hoplite sell the MT6551? Thanks, Brewer |

I was at a local shop 2 years ago and bought their only MT6551. They also had the MT6530 lightweight. They both used the small front pivot pin holes, with the screws in place rather than retained pins. The MT6551 had the drilling to add the retaining pin and spring, which I did right on. The MT6530 did not have the drilling done, though. I guess as has been said, it is a duke's mix on what you can find. |
