Regarding a preban R6520, which would you prefer and why. 1- A green label, full circle carrier, small fire control parts, large front pivot but WITH raised fence, one of the rarer versions. So only one Colt PC feature, the large pivot, the rest is "milspec". 2- a blue label, shaved carrier, sear block, large fire control parts, raised fence and small pivot. 3 Colt PC features, the sear block, fire control pins and shaved carrier. Putting price out of the picture, which would you choose ? |

3- a blue label, shaved carrier, sear block, large or small don't know or care fire control parts, raised fence and small pivot; drilled for std push pin. 3-4 Colt PC features, the sear block, fire control pins [dunno] and shaved carrier; NO bayonet lug on upper. Install std push pin in a few minutes in the tub, with the stopper down, just in case. Install complete Colt upper with bayonet lug, install full circle carrier. |

Since the Gov't Carbine was intended by Colt to be sold only to LE, it never had it's bayonet lug shaved off, nor did it loose it's collapsible stock. Blue Label R6520s still have a lot of cool stuff about them. Nonetheless, I'd take the green label. Colt will never make them like that again. I just acquired one of these fine/rare rifles (as described & pictured). The barrel is 1/7 CMP. Is this the same barrel as a Colt "lightweight"? Trying to find out what the barrel diameter is (muzzle and under handguards) |
