I'm looking for something to use with 300BLK for subs and supers. I know there's no exact comparison, but I'm not opposed to using a dope chart. It's what I'm using now with an EoRech. But I'd really like a scope with double markings. What does Vortex have that would meet my need. Sub 200 yard shots.
We've got a ton of great scopes that would fit the bill, however none of them have a dedicated .300 blk Sub/Super reticle. I'd say to take a look at our Viper PST 1-4x24 or our Strike Eagle 1-6x24. Both of those have reticles that have can be used for holdovers...the main difference being that the Strike Eagle is a BDC for 5.56, and the PST is a reticle that has evenly spaced moa or mil subtensions. I'd probably lean towards the PST as you'd be able to notate your dope and use our new Dope Disk to be able to know your holdovers for different loads/distances!
+1 on using the PST 1-4x for 300BO. I recently finished my rifle and this optic has worked out really well. After the initial sight-in with 220 grain subs (setup for 100 yard zero), I used supersonic rounds and used the reticle subtensions for on the fly adjusting for either type of ammo. I plan to use this rifle for coyote and hog hunting, so the 1-4x scope should be perfect for these closer ranges in thicker brush / woods around here in SC and in Alabama.
