| A few years ago I lost my right eye in a shooting accident. Now I am shopping optics to use while scouting and eventually hunting mule deer. Obviously binoculars are difficult to use due to the inherent duplicity as well as right eye relief adjustments. I am considering the recon monocular but the viper binos are very enticing as well. Does anyone have an opinion regarding the two? Or maybe some insight to help a monocular hunter that I haven't considered? Spotting scopes are out of my price range this year I am gonna save up for one next year. Thanks in advance. |

Another option, if you don't mind a reticle, is the RECCE Pro: http://www.vortexoptics.com/category/vortex-recce-pro-hd-8x32-monocular It's basically the same optics as the 8x32 Viper HD as well and bit less expensive. The monoculars will also have the advantage of less weight. Hope this helps! |
