So I had a Vortex strikefire that never worked right, go out when shooting, wouldn't turn on some times.  New battery, twice, never could get it to work.  Enter the SPARC.  This thing looks good so I contact Vortex CS and they are great!  I send them my Strikefire and for the price difference they send me a Sparc.  This is where I have to ask, is it Vortex or am I just cursed?  First time out, on and off when shooting.  Yes I know, tighten the battery cap. Second and third time out it works.  I put the rifle up and haven't shot it in months.  Get it out today, completely clean and lube thinking it will be going with me tomorrow for a little fun.  Turn on the Sparc.....won't turn off. Finally, on the twentieth or so try it goes off.  I turn it back on and now the only way to kill it is take the battery out.  Wait five minutes, reinstall battery, immediately it's on.  Crazy!  Anyone else with this problem??  I also have a Vortex scope, love it, but maybe me and Vortex red dots just don't mix.  Lol!!

Alan,

First off, I'm sorry to hear you were having problems with your red dot. I just want to ask you some questions first. When shutting the sight off, how are you doing it? We have had some guys call in before with a problem turning the red dot sights on/off and it turns out they were not holding down the power button long enough or they were holding it down too long. The correct way to turn it on is to simply click the button once quickly so it makes a click sound and then immediately release. The way to shut it off is to hold the power button down for about 5 seconds and then the sight should shut off automatically. Then, simply take your finger off the button. If this is not working for you, please give us a call and ask for customer care. They will most definitely get you taken care of: 800-426-0048
