Well, I guess I got to your question a little late. Sorry about that, but I'll answer it anyway. The exposed knobs are nice if you think you'll be dialing for long range shots a lot. Typically hunters don't do this kind of shooting, so they tend to like the capped turrets. Long range shooters and some long range hunters do like to dial shots though, so the exposed knobs are a nice feature. I thin kit really depends on the type of shooting you are doing. I think the PST knobs are plenty stiff for most situations. About the only time I'd probably like the capped knobs better would be if I had my rifle in a horse scabbard because pulling it out of there might turn the knobs. The other differences between the PST and HS is that the PST line offers reticle illumination and first focal plane option. Hope this helps! -Sam |

I found one of the HS 1-4's today at a local gun store. It's very clear and bright. Definitely looks like a very good deal. I just finished mounting and bore sighting it. It only took 4 clicks horizontally for 100 yards zero. The vertical was already dead center. I'll be taking it to the 25 yard indoor range in the next day or two to test it for CQB.
