Other than their general shape and about $50 price difference on Aimsurplus.com what distinguishes these two?
I am build a new flat top and am interested in these optics but just don't know which one to go with. I want to couple it with the 3x magnafier. I have heard that there has been some issues with Strikefire's green dot not being very visibile in the day light. |

I am build a new flat top and am interested in these optics but just don't know which one to go with. I want to couple it with the 3x magnafier. I have heard that there has been some issues with Strikefire's green dot not being very visibile in the day light. The SPARC is a bit smaller and lighter weight. It also uses a mounting system that attaches directly to the base of the unit, rather than a traditional ring mount. This makes mounting easier, in terms of leveling, and it also allows a mount system where you can choose your own height. Included with the SPARC you will be able to do a low mount (shotgun, AK's), absolute, or lower 1/3. With the StrikeFire you have to choose one height mount. The StrikeFire's advantage is that the diameter of the glass is larger. Some find this appealing because they think it is easier to find the dot. As far as the dot brightness goes, the green/red version isn't as bright as the red only version. The SPARC comes only with the red only dot. You can get the StrikeFire in either red/green or red only. Both the red only models are very bright and easy to see in bright daylight. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! -Sam |

I appreciate your timely response, it speaks volumes about your concern with customer relations which is a rare thing now a days.
Is the 2 MOA the only size available on the SPARC? What size is the body on the Strifeforce? 30mm or 1inch? What is the expected life span of the batteries? |

The StrikeFire is 4MOA only. The StrikeFire uses a 30mm tube. -Sam |

Quoted: How long will the batteries run on both? Is there an automatic shut off? On the highest setting it's around 150 hours for the SPARC. The life dramatically increases just a couple settings down to where it will be in the 1000's of hours, and it should still be visible in most daylight situations. On the lowest setting it's around 4000-5000 hours. On the StrikeFire it's about 200 hours on the highest setting (red only). Same deal as the SPARC, where it will dramatically increase just a couple clicks down from the highest setting. It's about 7000-8000 on the lowest setting. The StrikeFire uses a CR2 battery, which is a little higher capacity. That's what gives it a slight boost in battery life. The SPARC uses a CR2354. The red/green version of the StrikeFire has slightly longer battery life when using just the green dot because it draws a little less current. There is an auto-shutoff. It's 6hours on all models. -Sam |
