first I will start by saying I love my strikefire. Last time I had my rifle out, about halfway through the session my sight started shutting off on one shot and then would come back on after a couple of shots. I got home and tried to turn the sight on but it was a no go, so I thought the battery was bad and replaced that but it didn't make a difference. I then took the battery cap off and stretched the spring out to see if that made a difference. Now the sight will turn on and off as I twist the cap on, so if you stop the cap in the right spot the sight will work, but if you turn it a little either way the sight might turn off and not work. Any ideas what the problem might be? I haven't called Vortex yet but will probably do it tommorrow.

Hmmm, hard to say without looking at it. I know that we had some last year that were having that issue, but then we upgraded the electronics. When did you buy it?

Whatever the case may be, it doesn't sound right and we'll take care of it. Probably the best thing to do is call our CS department at 1-800-426-0048 and they will take care of it for you.

Sorry about the trouble.

I bought it in June of last year. I've been busy with work so I haven't had time to call cs yet. Even with this problem I still think it's the best sight for the money. I just wish you guys would make an ACOG type sight so I can put one on my other rifle.

If you bought it then I think it was before the electronics were upgraded. We'll either upgrade the electronics or give you a new sight. Just give us a call when you have time and we'll take care of it.

Sorry, no plans for an ACOG style sight at this time. We've got some really cool 1-4x24's coming out in the spring though.

got my strike fire back yesterday, it took six days from mailing in old one to receiving new one, and this included the weekend. Vortex just sent me a brand new one instead of fixing the old one and they also sent a new battery with it. I also sent my mount with because when I was trying to loosen the mounting bolt on the base the locking rod stripped all the teeth out of the mount so the bolt would just spin (it was a pita to get the nut loosened up enough to remove mount from receiver), so I stated what the problem was and expected to have to pay for a new mount, but they threw a new one of those in too. I'm very pleased with the  level of service from the Vortex people and they will have my business from now on.

Glad we could take care of you and thanks for the update!
