On my family Thanksgiving trip back to Madison WI I got to stop by and visit with the fine folks at Vortex. I just wanted to drop a post and let you all know what a cool experience it was. ( I am headed back Monday to get the names of the people that helped me).
My father-in-law has a pair of their very nice Razor binocs and a Skyline spotting scope, and was bugged by a slight focus issue with the binos so I suggested we just go drop by. We found their place (about a 10 min drive from the house) and walked in unannounced. We walked right into their main facility which looked like R&D central as well as customer support/billing etc etc. They had a few displays and product to check out. We were helped within about 10 seconds of walking in by a nice younger gentleman who listened to my FiL describe the problem, took them directly to the back to a tech. While this was going on I asked him about the strikefire and he directed me to two others - who I assume had either designed the optic or who worked on it. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with both application and product information. They also showed me a couple of prototypes of a new optic that they will be debuting at SHOT in a few weeks. While not strictly revolutionary, it does have some really nice features that appear to be very applicable to the platform. The technician returned the binocs to us in about 10 min and said that after a full diagnostic everything seemed to be in perfect operating order, but suggested that we might have bumped some setting off (on the same knob as the focus, but you pull the dial to select the other setting) and showed us how to correct that. It put the binocs in very good working condition in seconds. The full service aspect of Vortex was awesome. It is so refreshing to see a company that is so dedicated to the customer. I believe that I will be buying AT LEAST 1 scope in the next month or so (depending on release date of mystery optic) and will plan to buy more in the future. The unconditional 100% warranty, great people and good product really make me proud for this tiny US company. Thanks Vortex - keep up the good work! Hi Mosin, Thanks for the post. I remember you stopping in. I was one of the techs that you talked to. It was great to meet you. We love to see when our customers stop in and we can put some screen names and faces together! Thanks for the tip on the forum. We'll check it out and see if it might be something we want to start advertising on. Thanks again for the post and the nice compliments! -Sam |

I agree with the positive comments about Vortex Optics.
Vortex is setting a new standard in customer service which in my opinion is the new gold standard. It will be interesting to see if other companies follow suite. I will be spending my optics dollars with Vortex exclusively. |
