I have a spare 18" stealth barrel that is waiting for my 2.0 upper and I was thinking about sending it out for some work (cut, weld & pin, maybe reprofile).

Does anyone know if there is any coating or treatment done to the bore/chamber? I was thinking about having it nitride coated as I want it to be pretty durable once all this other work is done. Any input would be appreciated.

I've had barrels cerakoted but not the bores or chamber... Why would you do the bore/chamber?

I was thinking of having it nitrided for wear resistance as it would make the surface harder without adding any material so it would still keep its accuracy potential.

What length are you wanting? If it's one of the offered ones I would trade you from my buildAR since I want a longer one but cannot add anything past a 16".

After 10k rounds just buy s new barrel. Plus Glen Seekins says that many times when you nitride it can cause issues with the barrel extension coming loose. He has great knowledge. I trust him.
