I ordered a 16" Predatar barrel during the Taste of Texas sale and just got around to installing it tonight. I am having trouble getting the gas block aligned, the barrel is relieved for the gas block and the gas block appears to be "keyed" for it but it does not fit.

Should the extra nub on the gas block fit into the slot on the barrel? Does this need to be relieved more or is it supposed to be a really tight fit and "massaged" into place?

I'll jump in before the "hit it with your purse" comments. I believe my factory PredatAR is really tight. I bet your fighting two axis, the tight fit on the barrel and the tight window that key needs to go into. Am I right? Try heating it gently with a small torch they use for copper pipe plumbing or a heat gun and see if that helps maneuver it around a little. I bet it will go.

I'm not gonna be the guy to tell you to hit it with your purse so... Have your wife hit it with her purse?

If your purse doesn't work, borrow a bigger purse from your wife!!!!!! Actually, I would use a wooden dowel rod and the plastic end of your hammer. (You know those hammer that are plastic on one end and rubber on the other)

Hit the corners of the key lightly with a file and see if it will let the block self align once you get the tip started.  There may be a slight but on one of the corners preventing insertion.  A little light lube never hurts either

I haven't had a chance to mess with it tonight. I have been trying to get the gas block of my stealth barrel to get a barrel nut for a MI rail over to a different build. I forgot about the red Loctite and stripped out one of the screw heads. I am now trying to decide if I want to use an easy out or send it back to LaRue to fix.
