Anyone ever run one of these in a tOBR 7.62?  Is there any benefit or is it hype?  If there is a benefit, was there a lot of tuning or was it drop in?

Thanks for the feedback

A friend of mine tried one in his 18" 7.62 tOBR and was not happy with it. He switched back to the LT spring and buffer. I will add that this friend is a very well respected AR15 builder and that in his opinion Mark Larue builds the finest .308 AR available.

Any details about what he didn't like?

The main reason was that he felt he was getting better accuracy with a standard rifle buffer and spring in a PRS stock. When he tried the silent captured spring his groups opened up. We are not talking about a big difference, but he is a precision shooter and a little is a lot. YMMV, just sharing information given to me by somebody I trust.

Thanks for the info.

I have been on the fence but I may just wait as it isn't cheap.  No one has chimed in with a positive so maybe it is a poor choice.

I tried one in a 223 rifle and switched it out after about 30 rds. I wasn't impressed with it.
The recoil impulse felt different.  I found it hard to tell when the half cycle happened when the magazine ran dry.

As for being silent.......  ??

My suggestion to you would be to save your money.
The only  time I ever had a a LT rifle misfeed was when   I  changed out the OEM parts to an aftermarket recoil spring and aftermarket buffer.
I now always stick the factory LT setup.

That is what I figured.

The stock setup works perfectly.  No feeding issues at all.  I thought this may smooth the impulse a little and reduce the noise but all it seems to do is empty your wallet.

I guess I should heed the advice...If it ain't broke, don't screw with it.

Combined with the jp lmos in one pf thier rifle, the scss is a work of art.

In different rifles you may have different results.
