I know this may be better placed in a general reloading forum but I know many guys here buy LaRue Rifles for their accuracy and shooting long distance. I don't want a bunch of "what if" and "I've heard" so I'm coming here in hopes to obtain some real knowledge from experience.

I'm developing loads for my 16in 7.62 PredatOBR.  Should I do my ladder tests, etc using my Surefire SOCOM?  I haven't shot the SOCOM enough to determine if it degrades accuracy or not.

Thanks for the help.

Do your testing just like you will do your shooting.  I have never found a Surefire to do anything detrimental to accuracy and can possibly improve accuracy.  I have 4 Larue 7.62s and shoot Surefire  SOCOMS on 3 of them with nothing but excellent results.  I do quite a bit of long range shooting as well,  Shoot your Surfire during load development with confidence.

This.

I can't help with loads. I shoot FGMM 175 gr 7.62.  But if you have the SOCOM, do your load work with it.

Here's my POI shift at 100yds with SOCOM. Its 3" straight down which is more than most people have but consistent and my 18" OBR stays at 1-1.2 inch 5 shot groups no matter what. Never 1.5 never 0.75.
Ignore the fact I'm not hitting the red center. The rifle is zeroed at 500yds and by the time I get back down to 100 with my dialing down, I'm usually not dead on center anymore and that's okay for what I want.
Top group is unsuppressed, bottom is suppressed.
