I'm running my tOBR ( has less than 100rds through it) in the Area 2 Multi-Gun Match here in Colorado in a week. Wish me luck! |

Head on over to the LWRC section, if there is one, and tell them all about your 2" groups. To OP: If the T1 is what you're comfortable with, just roll with it. No harm in trying. I am no 3 gunner, but lots of those guys use a 1-4 or 6 variable power scope. |

Can't believe you found me after I pee'd on your shoe while shooting those 2" groups with your LWRC SPR one handed, juggling the spent brass as its flying out your LWRC SPR. I love trolls. Nothing to see here, move along. I'm glad somebody's got a sense of humor around here. Seriously though, 3-4" groups at 100 with a tOBR and a red dot? Aim at a 4" circle at 100 yards and turn your dot down. Either that or shoot better ammo if you're feeding that thing garbage. |

The 2moa will appear 2inches at 100 yards and the 4moa dot will appear 4 inches at 100 yards. You could buy a 1x4, 1x6, or 1x8 and see how you shoot. Not sure what your experience is with a carbine but you might want to attend a couple of carbine classes. If your into 3 gun I recommend taking a couple of Frank Proctors classes from the way of the gun! They are excellent courses and I personally learned a lot from Frank.

I felt the same way about my Predatar I received in July and like you, started a post about it. Ended up selling the T1. These rifles are nothing short of amazing and I felt like there's other "combat" rifles out there that could be better used for close range use. larue rifles are better multi purpose, precision, or hunting.
With that said, if I had a short barrel Stealth/OBR or something, then it'd be a little different story. I guess I need to get on the train and order a short barrel stealth for a close range sbr. ;) Though I do already have an 11.5" SBR I much prefer for the close range stuff, I'm certainly a supporter of all things LaRue. |

MOA and Sub MOA groups are doable even with iron sights as long as the fundamentals are solid but, ammo is also a key component in that equation. Knowing that it's a Larue, we all already know that the rifle is capable so, it may just take a little practice with known quality ammo to get that group size shrunk down some. As someone has already said, turn down the brightness of the dot to where you can barely see it and make sure you are holding it consistently in the same spot every single time. While I haven't tried using a RDS or irons on my OBR, I have shot close to MOA groups with my EOTech at 100 yards with one of my 5.56 rifles so, I'm sure you can do the same with the TOBR cause I'm not that great of a shot to begin with. |

Thanks for the recommendation's and advice guys.
My ammo I use is my reloads, 55 fmjbt, 4895(don't recall the load info). It usually holds about 1'ish MOA Just wishing for a 1MOA Aimpoint one day for my rifles. EOTECHs are not my buy list, but using them with that 1MOA center dot made for some accurate shots. Hence my wish for Aimpoint to release theirs.
