Didn't see it anywhere on the board yet but I did notice today that the MB and FS for the SF SOCOM line are now available ... Now to get them added to the order options for rifles (particularly those on the "pinned and welded")

Good stuff ~!!

That reminds me....I emailed Juli about that last week and never got a response. I should check my order statuses.

ETA: Just checked and both of them have been changed to the new Socom brakes. She is on it!!

Hey DFDFF, did they push back your order at all?

I wouldn't think so. When I first ordered and sent emails back and forth to Juli saying I wanted the new Socom brakes, she said if they were in stock before the rifle was being built that I could change it.

Spoke to Juli this morning, and just as soon as I hung up, the note was on the order page.

JULI ROCKS!!!

Keep in mind, if you have an older suppressor, you still need the older brake/flash hider.

Are they in stock and shipping?

Don't have a suppressor yet, but I'm figuring the newer ones will be a little easier to find one I save up my milk money for the tax stamp, etc...

I thought all of the current brakes were the SOCOM compatable ones.  Is this not true?

Anyone know the PN for the 5.56 1/2" thread and the 6.8 5/8" thread mounts?  I hope I didn't just receive the old mounts...  This is going to suck if I've got close to $300 in old mounts.  Planned on getting a SOCOM supressor in the next year or two.

EDIT:  shit, just noticed I'm in the Larue section.  My questions my be irrelevant.

The older ones will work, but the can will be able to spin around.  The new MB's have a detent indention on it to lock the SOCOM can in place, thus no free spinning.

The new SOCOM 556 mounts are the SFMB-556 and the SF3P-556

The new SOCOM 6.8 mounts are the SFMB-68 and the SF3P-68

and I feel your pain, i've got 10 of the "old" mounts that I have to replace.  I just ordered and received 5 and will be ordering 5 more soon.

Thanks.  from my order history.  I ordered the correct SFMB-68, but it looks like I ordered the incorrect 5.56 one.  PN: SF MB556K  Looks like it will be for sale as soon as I make it home.

Yep - the MB556k mounts are the "old" mounts.  Shouldn't be hard to move, they usually go pretty quick in the EE.

LaRue has the new ones in stock as of a couple days ago. I ordered one and it gets here today.

I just called LaRue to add a SF SOCOM MB to my PredatOBR and they said that it wasn't necessary to add it to my order.  They said they will give everyone the option of switching to the SOCOM muzzle devices when they recall the lower.  I assume that will come with a change in price but I didn't ask that specifically.  Thought I would pass the word.....

I have this on my invoice.  Not sure if this will be the price or not.
Gun handling fee (1) - PredatOBR 5.56 18 Custom (SOCOM):$29.95  The (SOCOM) part was added after I emailed, but the price is the same as the day I ordered.

Thanks for the info, was about to email them.

Just for clarification -

The NEW can will work on the OLD mounts. They will rotate freely, so you may not get your exact return to zero.

The OLD can will NOT work on the NEW mounts.

So you don't have to replace all your mounts if you just want to shoot suppressed and don't mind a little bit of POI shift.

I e-mailed Amy this morning and she added the SOCOM line to my rifles, but it is still the $150 price from the old SF Brakes. Do you think this will be adjusted to match the new LOWER Brake price when they are completed? Hate to sound like a broken record but it sucks we have to make these changes to our orders as accessories are being updated at a faster rate then rifles are being shipped. Im sure its a PITA for LaRue too

I had the "old" SF brake ordered for my tOBR.  When I called and spoke to Juli, she informed me that the newer brakes would be less expensive (at least on a 14.5 5.56 tOBR, what I ordered) by about $10 or so.  I was happy with getting the newer model switched on my order without losing my place in line, so I didn't bother to ask about a refund of the difference...
