I have an 18" OBR heavy that had its second outing to the range today. Its running a AAC 51T brake and SDN-6 suppressor.
On its first day it shot and cycled just fine with and without the suppressor using 168gr FGMM. Today was a different story. The gun shoots fine and cycles with the switch to the right and the suppressor attached. It now ejects but does not fully cycle while unsuppressed and the switch to the left. Essentially its not fully cycling and picking up a new round out of the Larue magazine. I read the other thread with the problem rifle that was not cycling with the SDN6 attached but mine seems to be different. Any thoughts or ideas? I will call Larue on Monday AM but was hoping the crowd here can help before then. Edited to add: The rifle produced a .68" 5-Shot group center to center of 175gr FGMM with the SDN-6 suppressor! |

Can you try a different lot of ammo ?
There's another manufacturer on another site that's had some terrible luck with FGMM ammo and their precision gas guns. I'd give Larue a call. These guns flat run suppressed and unsuppressed without hiccup based on my experience. If yours isn't, they'll definitely help you get it right. Besides, the whole point of the adjustable gas block is to aid in making the gun run smoothly when suppressed. Sorry you're having trouble. Please post up what ends up fixing this... |

Spoke with John M. at LT this morning. Had a conversation that was reminiscent of a scene from Office Space...
"I take the complaint from the customer, write it down and take it to the engineers...they go in their back room figure out what to do and tell me. I then contact the customer and do what the engineers said..." I guess the engineers don't have "people skills"... Anyway I found the conversation entertaining. Bottom line the engineers would like be to try a new BCG...which is currently being shipped to me. Hopefully I will have a chance to test it before I go downrange...(the other side of the world type of downrange). If I don't John said to test it when I can and then get back to him. The odd thing is this seems to be opposite the common problem of short-stroking WHILE suppressed. For the folks subscribing to the thread - I apologize if I can't update until the fall. This awesome rifle isn't going with me...I'm not in that particular line of work but if it doesn't, LT has asked for the rifle back to troubleshoot. For everyone's SA - the ammo that was being used was 168 and 175gr FGMM, 168g Hornady AMAX, 168gr Black Hills and Federal MK319 SOST. Problem was consistent across all loads. |

The BCG was replaced is the rifle my Buddy sent back and is still having the same issue. We be tagging this thread for updates. |
| The new bolt arrived and I did not have a chance to test the rifle before deploying. Of note, the bolt has more areas on it that are polished to a mirror shine than the original bolt. However, the bolt does not slide into the upper receiver and requires a significant nudge to fit. Once installed it seems to hand cycle must fine like the original but hangs up occasionally if the bolts is pulled back 100% and then let forward slowly. I imagine that if its cycled a bunch it will loosen up - though I have doubts about it fixing the short stroke issue. |

Mine had the same issue after 80-100 rounds, then I had to break down, clean, and re oil the BCG. After that it starts running fine again.
At a magpul class Caylen mentioned he had a similar issue with his ECC and went with a Tubbs CS flat wire spring and it cured it. You may or may not have to trim a couple coils off. I haven't had a chance to shoot mine with it yet, the scope fell apart and I'm waiting for a replacement. The springco red spring that comes in the carbine RE guns is IMO a little too strong for reliable extended unsuppressed fire, this gun is optimized to run suppressed. |

I will try that out when I get home. Currently in an undisclosed location in Soutwest Asia - very hot and humid here - just got here and I can't wait to leave! |
