I've been looking at the RISR for quite some time.  I'm thinking about ordering one.  It will be used on with a steath upper and a LT104 mount and a leupold 1-4x scope.

The issue is this.  I'm only buying it for improved cheek weld.  I don't really need height.  I just don't like the way MOE/CTR cheek welds feel.  I don't have an issue with my eye lining up now with the optic, would just like more thickness.

I prefer the sopmod, vltor, and magpul acs cheek weld, but don't really feel like replacing the stock.

Has anybody here had a RISR and was disappointed because it was too tall?  Is it really meant for the OBRs where the top rail is raised already?

Thoughts?

I used a RISR on my rifles with an ACOG in an lt100 and a H1 in a tall lt660 mount.

It was a no way on the acog right away for me. too high of a cheek weld.

it was a little better for me on the h1 with tall mount but it still was not a "natural" cheek weld for me.

I only run SOPMOD stocks for their weight and fantastic cheek weld. I do think it is all a matter of ergonomics for people though. We all have different sized faces and eyes and what not.

If you are not looking for a height adjustment and just a better cheek weld keep in mind it will raise the cheek weld height a little bit

I had one and sold it. I got it for the same reason you want one. It really raises your face a lot, way too much for most optics.
I ended up with a sopmod and am glad I did.

You may like the ACS...it'll give you a better weld and will keep the same line of sight.
