The issue is surefire has stated ALL of their future cans will use this lockup system.  The PreditOBR 14.5 with pined comp/FH is permanent and represents a lifelong investment.

It can still be removed. It will destroy the brake, but it's not "permanent" permanent.

And now I know what I am going to have done. I guess a few rifles are going to need a facelift. Part of the deal ......I was just about to go down that road, I guess I should go with the future.

So Mark about that Costa ......
But I do want another no matter what you decide

Wondering if there's been any kind of update on this front? I see Surefire is exclusively stocking the new gen muzzle devices on suppressors on their website. Kinda worried about my 14.5 tOBR with an old style flash hider pinned and welded. I'd love to be able to throw a can on it at some point. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to get factory new FA556 style suppressors.

I just called the shop and was told that we would have the option, if they receive the SF brakes before production of your respective rifle.  I was also told that the Purchasing manager does not have an ETA on the 556 brakes, but they do currently have the 762 brakes....

That is good news, my local surefire dealer says my 556 MBs are on way.  Heck, I'd even be willing to send em to Texas if that's what it takes!
