Been wanting to read a little more so going off the advise of the crew in here I picked up Forien Influence, figured any book dedicated to Mark LaRue had to be a decent read.

Oh and I had to have an appropriate bookmark...

It's a good read.  You might want to read the rest of them also!

Based on what I've read so far I intend to.

Yep, stand alone books but they do build upon the next.  Best to start with his first and go from there.

This is going to cut into my PredatOBR budget...  Finished this one and I bought The Lions of Lucerne and Path of the Assasin last night.  I'd say I'll be picking up the next two in a couple weeks.

I use my LaRuler as bookmark.  How does Brad Thor compare to say Vince Flynn?

I like to pick them up at Half Price Books.  Saves me a little $$.

If you like Brad Thor, you'll like Vince Flynn and vice versa.

No Larue gear in 'em, but the Patrick Obrien series about Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin are the best written books in existence. They'll spoil you for anybody else's fiction.

They are both good.  Vince is fighting The Big C ... more prayers out for him and his family.

Prayers sent.   I was surprise at the number in this area with C.  and undergoing Chemo.  Not sure which is more fun, surgery or chemicals.  I'll go with surgery, had some cute nurses.

Can some one list Brad Thor's books in order.  I'm finding them listed different ways towards the later novels

Think this is the order in one of my books.  Might find the list in order of publication dates on line.

The Lions Of Lucerne
Path Of The Assassin
State Of The Union
Blowback
Takedown
The First Commandment
The Last Patriot
The Apostle
Foreign Influence

The will keep you up for a week or four reading.

Thank you.  So it seems that The Athena Project comes after Foreign Influence and then Full Black

By the way the Tactical Bookmark comes in handy to ward off those who would try to interupt your reading.

And he still managed to crank out another book (and a pretty good one I thought).

Tenacity at it's finest.

Dang .... forgot about my "Full Black" hardbound.  Yes the Athena Project comes after Foreign Influence.  Now I have to find that book.

Edit:  Well, surprised myself, found it in my "to read" pile.

I've read all of Vince Flynn's books and all but The Athena Project from Brad Thor. I've enjoyed every single one of them.

My favorite out of all of them is still Flynn's first book "Term Limits". Great book. Also, check out Ben Coes. He's got 2 books out "Power Down", and "Coup D'etat". Both are very good, and he has another coming out in another month or two I think.

Having watched my Sweetie go through it, after the surgery, you still do chemo to try and kill anything the cutting missed. It wasn't a fun 7 years and I miss her more than words can say.

I am a huge Thor fan. However, I wasn't feeling the Athena Project. Just didn't do it for me. My favorite one has been Blow Back.

I know. When the VA Oncologist visited me after surgery, was against Chemo. and this was in the hospital.  Talking to my VA  while in  recovery at home decided the odds would be much better with Chemo.  My sister also had colon cancer (not sure of all the facts and all the recommendations on quick surgery after discovery / Chemo) and passed away on Fathers Day in 2011.  At least our loved ones are back with the LORD and don't have to worry about the crap going on here.  DVCAPI, Mark and allot of friends I will never meet in person are in my prayers. No matter what, every day is a good one.

My wife's Oncologist talked about a new treatment where my put chemo drugs in while you're open on the table. It's suppose to be able to directly target they area where the cancer was. Don't remember all the details as she wasn't a candidate for it.

I remember talking to my BIL during the time that my wife was home on Hospice. I said Mrs. DVCAPI can't catch a break and my BIL said he thought that for a while. Then he said, "what if the 7 years she's had, was her break"?  That gave me a different way to look at it.

I've said on a grief share forum I'm a part of that I won't do anything in this life that would keep me from being able to join my Honey in the next life.

Mark, I've said it before and I'll say it again. We may butt heads on the forums sometimes, but you're a good man, and it shows "where the rubber meets the road".

Thank you, Randall_1611

Sams usually has his books for 4.99 for the hardcover. I picked up a few last time.
