Who is interested in a PredatAR 14.5 with pencil barrel, pinned & welded muzzle device and no port selector technology?

There has been a 14.5 predatAR for a while with PST but it is the selct fire so its LE/MIL only.

Adding a poll to see if there is any interest.

I'd rather have a 14.5 PredatAR than a 14.5 PredatOBR. Although I really want a C/L PredatOBR, most likely can't get it, but still want it.

I would be in for one. That would hold me over until the SUITCASE comes out.

Apparently the LaRue 14.5s are actually close to 14" so that the Surefire muzzle device brings them just past 16" instead of being longer than it has to be. This is a good idea, I'm no stranger to cutting barrels to match muzzle devices myself. It means that by suffering a permanently attached muzzle device you lose nearly two inches of length and move your can that much farther back if you use one. And since there is only one barrel nut and handguard for the Predatar, you don't really lose anything by pinning, except the flash hider when you kill the barrel.

On the LaRue site where it list all the rifles next to PredatAR 5.56 it says there are "(3)".  But when you select this item, there are only 2 (18" and 16".)  Is this site awaiting an update of a PredatAR in 14.5"?  See link below.

A predatar 14.5 but with the PST sounds really good.  Here's to wishful thinking!

According to the sales guy I talked to just now, he says they will not be offering a 14.5 inch predatar nor can you order a 16" predatar with the predatobr 13" rail

That's a bit disappointing.

BTT to gauge more interest.  Topic seems to be coming up more and more in other threads.

as has been brought up in the other threads, the 14.5 predatar is the same as the soon to be released 14.5 predatobr, except for the full auto switch.

I am holding out for either an 18in with rifle gas system, or a 14.5 midlength predatAR personally. Maybe one day

Only in the gun world do men want to lose an inch and a half of stick length....

I honestly don't see the point. But thats just menu guess.

Thanks and completely aware of the PredatAR 14.5/10.5 mentioned in the LaRue Rifle Brochures from 2011 but this thread is in reference to a PredatAR 14.5 with the same PredatAR pencil barrel in the shorter length.  No need for the port selector technology or the OBR barrel.

gotcha and that is what I would really want as well.  A clarification to the poll would help those starting to read up on the 3-5 different threads about it.

Good idea.  I updated the first post in this thread.
