Very innovative. Sounds like something Magpul would dream up but not necessarily implement.
If this works out and becomes available for civilians, then would extra barrels be possible? |

How is the suitcase rifle different than the PredatOBR? Looks like the lower has captive springs, none of the nuts and screws are torqued down, and at some point it will have throw levers for the HG. What am I missing? A GSA number. Also some LaRue black magic to not require a torque wrench. ETA. Captive springs should be standard on all lowers as far as my blind, spring-losing ass is concerned... |

I'm beginning to wonder how smart Mark LaRue is. I don't think necessarily that he is John Browning smart, but I could be wrong. Funny how the OBR is starting to develop such a following. The Suitcase gun is another example of ingenuity. Congrats. Larue's suitcase gun isn't the first time a removable barrel AR has been made. Sure he has perfected it a bit but to think of it as a "game changer" is a little much. |

It's not about the removable barrel, it's about being able to hit an egg at 200 yards moments after pulling a 14.5" take-down self-loading rifle out of a fairly short and benign suit/brief case ... ... and then if things get sporty, there is enough rounds to get busy with. As an aside, the attraction and Shotshow reaction was that though there are other takedown rifles, folks don't like a bolt action for unintended CQB work. I can say that the folks filing in to see it at our booth have seen it all ... and they hadn't seen what we showed them before. If I was a betting man, I'd bet we sell a metric sh*t-ton of 'em ... if nothing else, just for the CDI factor.

Incredible package and can't wait to see what slick idea you dream up to QD the rail. I know the removable barrel wasn't your primary design goal, but the facts appear to be that you have developed a great system to let end users remove (or change) the barrel while maintaining the expected LaRue accuracy and not adversely affecting the weight of the system. With that said, I'll take mine with a "back-up" 20 " barrel also. One final thought, after you get through selling a 'metric sh*t-ton' of the 7.62 version you can start making the 5.56 version and sell another 'metric sh*t-ton' of those. (i'll take that one with a 12" 5.56 barrel and "back up" 20" 6.5G barrel) |

How about a 2L bottle of Mountain Dew? Should leave room for a couple of extra mags.
And at this rate I should be able to squeeze the 20 " 7.62, 14.5" 7.62, 18" 6..5G, and 12" 5.56 all in the front boot of the car, if you are willing to sell me some more of those sweet Covert rifle cases :) |
