FYI...
If you only purchased wristbands, they ship USPS (with no tracking number) but if you bought other stuff with your wristbands, it'll ship UPS (like our normal shipping). Also, in a couple weeks we'll send an email with "What Not to Forget", along with a link to download the Range Day Waiver Form. |

I just bought my tickets and I have a few questions as this will be my first LT Range day.
Assumptions. If I'm wrong someone please let me know. 1. The TOP SHOT challenge/competition will be shot with LT rifles. 2. The vendor shoots/classes/demos, likewise, will be done with their respective equipment. 3. There will be NO "bring your own toys and play" opportunities. Questions. 1. How will the challenge be setup/run? I saw TOP SHOT but I'm guessing the only things that will apply from the show are rifles, targets, distances and maybe a platform. No poles, teams, ect. 2. If there are "bring your own toys and play" opportunities should I bring my STI.40 and 1100 or just an AR? Thanks, Jack |

Only LT-supplied / sanctioned firearms will be allowed on the firing line. Vendors will be all setup with what they need to demo their respective hardware. The OBR Top Shot stage will indeed use OBRs that were used on the show. The complexity of the stage will be reduced to a profile deemed more practical for a general audience. The rules of the OBR Top Shot stage will be announced at the stage. |

They won't allow you to conceal carry at the range on Range Day either. Could save you a walk back to your car to stow your handgun. If the crouds are anything like last year it could be quite a hike to where you park. |

Last year I brought my wife and 1 year old. We had a blast by the way.
I was about to pre order wristbands, and thought I better just check and see if my boy needs a spectator band since he is two. I read that there is no children under 12. Is that just shooting or going? IDE love to go but it's all my fam or none in this case. Hope we can bring him that could be a deal breaker for me. Thanx |

Which wristband is which? Ordered one of each––one is red and the other blue. Might give away the NS but need to know which one it is first.

Mr Fingar,
Will those emails be coming out soon? |
SO looking forward to this. Wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to go but things fell into place and I got my order in on Monday. Not that I'm gonna win anything, but about the door prize drawings...I saw in a previous post that you have to be there on-site to win, but do you still win if your number is drawn and you're (for example) in line waiting to go shoot something? Or do they just pick another number if you don't answer the call when it's drawn? Either way, it's gonna be great and I can't wait to see how LaRue and crew top last year's event! |
They already said that the shooting stages will shut down during the raffle drawing. Also, last year during the raffle drawing, if they called a number and no one claimed it, another number was called.
This year, we'll have a monolithic quad-speaker sound system which will resonate our manly voices across the entire range in a god-like manner.
Yes, the stages will all go cold during the drawings...you can stay in-line, if you really want to.... ...but be forewarned. If you hear your number called, you better scream like a little girl, and get my attention...the fickle Fingar of fate will be quick to start digging for another ticket, if nothing is heard. |

Mark, Where will the sound system be located? Near the main building and the long range stuff or down near the bays? Gonna need a pretty good jog/scream to cover some of those distances. Thanks. |

Even though I've been told that the speakers can be heard over the entire range, the speakers (and spot where raffle will be held) will be central to the bays on the back side of the range. Folks in line at the 1000 yard range will need to hustle. |

Not sure where people are staying, so hard to suggest specific food venues.
The young bar scene is Sixth Street, mostly east of Congress. The older bar scene is mostly west of Congress (both on 6th, and also 4th IIRC). If you want to here some music, grab a Chronicle (free Austin paper - music is everywhere, tons of styles - but you need to see who is playing where) Restaurant row is Barton Springs drive (The original Chuy's is there, but there are at least 1/2 dozen eateries that are usually fairly good - they change a lot). If you want more "Austin" food (fusion cuisine) - west 6th near W. Lynn is the eclectic food area (Z Tejas, Zoots, West Lynn (expensive vegie food)). Please note - a lot of these places are rather liberal oriented. Hula Hut is the Chuy's on Lake Austin - it is more happy hour oriented. Oasis has a great view - but food is a bit pricy. It is a place to take a date for a drink or two. fwiw, Resutrant Row has Green Mesquite - which was on diners, drive-in's and dives. Austin has lots of BBQ offerings - the most named are probably County Line and Salt Lick. the S. Salt Lick is WAY south. There are several County Line's. There are plenty of not so popular ones - ymmv, some are pretty good. SA is known for Tex Mex, Austin not so much. We have a mixture of a few Tex-Mex places, but plenty of Southwestern and interior as well (for Mexican food). Chuy's is fairly traditional Tex Mex. Trudy's has good salsa, but is a Grill with some variety rather than strict Tex Mex. |
Austin has tons of excellent food trucks too. Just FYI.
I'll be driving up from Houston. Can I pick up the Preditar I ordered day before yesterday?
If you had your order sent to an Austin FFL you can. The fine folks at LaRue can't just hand out rifles.
CM |
Alright - I wasn't going to go at first, but several out-of-towners said they would be there. Are there any of the NON-shooter wristbands available? dpmmn said he would cry if I weren't there to hold his hand...

Daddy loves you. Now go away.
