My nephew is the skipper of a Burke-class destroyer now on deployment. He just emailed me with a pic of his Mark 38 25mm remote-controlled machine gun. I wonder if Barrett is gonna make a civilian version. 
And the 5" deck gun with the projectile in mid-air.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this is a Bushmaster M242 chain gun made by Bell. No idea who makes the remote turret.... The version I have experiance with was dual fed with either AP or HE rounds, could be fired at 200 rds per minute. HE had a 5 meter kill radius, and traveled at a leisurely 3600 fps AP fired a depleted uranium sabot traveling north of 4200 fps and would reach out and touch.....stuff. |
