I was just wondering if there is a difference in handguard length on the 16, 18 and 20 inch versions? I'm looking at purchasing an on OBR in the near future. I'm really torn on which model to go with. I really like the handguards on the PredatAR, due to their length. In all the pictures the hadguards on the 16 and 18 seem to be the same. While the 20in version look to be a little bit longer. If they are different, are the 20in handguard compatible with the 18in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.TIA

| the only reason I can see it might not work is the slots cut for the adjustable gas block might not line up. I just want the longest handgaurd possible. I really like the handguard on the PredatAR, the length looks perfect. I plan on using this primarily as a precision rig that might wear a T1 every now and then. This is a big purchase for me and I just want it to be right. I guess I could just order the 20" model and get it cut down to 18". |
| I just called and was told the same thing. I also asked about cutting a 20" down to 18" and was told it was not possible due to the different gas systems. From my understanding of the rifle length gas system you can run as short as 17". It must have something to due with the gas port sizing, allowing to much gas or not enough. After talking to Larue, I trust they now better than I. I guess I will just have to settle for the shorter handgaurd. |
