i like them a lot, i don't find the AFG very comfortable, and the FUG adds a considerable amount of weight to the front of the gun...
if i could get the lights in closer to the rail (like the new scout mount) i'd be in great shape as much as it pains me to say, i might try out one of the gear sector mounts.. |

I gave the AFG a try.. ditched it recently.. I'm not big into FUG like grips.. esp if they add weight.. That's why I'm hoping for the simplicity of the handstops. Understandable about the mount for sure.. keep me posted if you make that jump, I'd be intrigued to see if it's a big difference. |

hellbound. What is the difference between the Aimpoint Comp M4 and M3? Looking into both and can not see the differnece between the two models. Honestly considering the Aimpoint PRO. the M3 has either a 2 or 4MOA dot and uses the 3v battery like the M2, and has like 50k hrs battery life the M4 only comes in 2MOA and uses a AA battery with 80k battery life I like the AA battery of the M4 since it's more readily available and if my spares get lost/destroyed/damaged i can go to any store in the world, or start harvesting batteries from household devices (remotes, clocks, toys, etc). i haven't really had a chance to play with the T1/H1 series, but i'd like to get a T1 for my wife's SBR and see if maybe it's worth switching them all over. I'm thinking about picking up an absolute cowitness mount for M4 since i switched to folding BUIS it sucks that when i start discussing my "finished" guns, that they are never really finished...

after i posted those pictures, i took the SOPMOD off of my MK18 clone and it felt and looked a lot better than the CTR.
then i see pics of the T1's, and think how much better the gun could handle and look with a micro RDS. i guess first thing's first... i need BCM to release the barrels i want... then i can worry about the light mounts, micro RDS and stocks...

Yeah, I'm on their e-mail list for barrels as well. the barrels i want aren't even listed yet... (14.5" BFH middy) i was told last fall they'd be out by end of the year. then it was early 2011. then it was february. then march. then "they're in production now".

That and an ion-bonded BCG which they said would be out early spring. |

I just got two FA BCGs today (non ion-bond), they are still in stock FYI now I just need the barrels so i can shoot these stupid things sometimes i think i enjoy the building, reconfiguring, and procurement of parts more than actually shooting...

Just got the e-mail from BCM about the barrels being in stock. Same here but I want the BFH ones. I know if I buy the standard ones I'm going to be disappointed until I get the BFH. So I'll just keep waiting. These are like a year in the making. I can't compromise now |

BCM sent me an e-mail today the the ion-bonded BCGs will be delayed until late summer. I bought two BCGs last month when they came back in stock... in my rush, i forgot to order some SLIP2000 EWL to try out... wonder if any local shops carry it I ordered some from SKD when they had their big Osama's dead sale. Pretty good stuff. |

Pretty good stuff. to be honest, after reading the description i'm a little skeptical as it sounds a lot like miltiec-1, only with corrosion protection. militec was a metal "conditioner" that was applied in a very similar fashion and wore into the metal with time/heat. i liked militec until i found out it had no corrosion protection, so i switched to brakefree CLP for general use, and LP for storage |

It does a good job, but it seems to "burn off" faster. I really haven't used the SLIP2000 EWL a lot yet, but the I like so far. |

My eyes! Wow that 2nd pic is bright! Looks good, how do you like those hand stops? I see a lot of folks running those, and am wondering how they are as opposed to a VFG/FUG or an AFG? I've had some major surgery to my L wrist and it doesn't bend like it used to, and I have been using my VFG basically as a hand stop. I've been looking at the LT hand stops to replace my VFG since I've had to adapt to a different way of holding my rifle. |
|
I apologize for the light. I was rushing to get them done. Took about an hour for both including finding my tools.
This is the first time I'll actually shoot with the handstops, but they feel good otherwise. The LT rail profile is nice and thin so they complement it well. |

Nice setups. Glad they functioned. Howd you like the handstops? Handstops worked as intended. It took a little getting used to and I had to close my stocks one notch to be more comfortable. Overall I really like them. Cheap, light, and gave good control of the rifle. Quoted:
Those rifles look very nice... Thanks Joe. Your present is in the mail as well. Sorry for the delay. The only thing I think I'll change is the stock from CTR to SOPMOD |
