I can't seem to get an answer to this question. I asked in the mounts thread but I guess that was the wrong forum.
Will the SPR-E for 1" scopes work OK with a standard front FSB? I have been asking around and can't seem to get a direct answer to this. I did some measuring and it seems like at 1x, the optic will cowitness with the FSB, but any zoom should take the FSB out of the picture. I just need to know that I'll be able to use my scope at 1x with the SPR-E and not need a picatinny riser or the SPR 1.93. Thanks. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

IMO, if you dont mind using an Aimpoint with the FSB in the picture than you should be ok with your setup. I use a regular SPR mount with a 1-4 scope and I have no problems. |

On an aimpoint you can co-witness because if the sight is dead you can still use the peep sight rear with the front post. With a scope that wont work. Where the cross hairs sit in conjunction with your front sight post will depend on the scope and mount used. I'm not sure how it will work with a 1" SPR-E. |
| The FSB will be slightly-to-very blurry depending on magnification. I run something similar on one of my carbines and the FSB is not in any way distracting. In my case, the crosshair aiming point is above the blur of the FSB. I'm not sure whether you will be able to use the BUIS effectively with the optic in place, but the LaRue mount is lightning-fast to remove in the event of a problem. Alternatively, you could use offset irons like some 3-gunners use. |
