In a recent thread about mounts I mentioned that I prefer Bobro and listed the reasons why. I stated in that thread "Bobro self adjusts, and doesn't mar finishes (for those that care about that, I don't)."

I would like to retract that comment, but the thread is locked. Your product was mentioned as marring rails, and I mentioned that Bobro did not do that as one additional selling point for Bobro. I recently stripped my Noveske Recon down to paint and noticed that while the rails were not marked at all by the Bobro mount, the scope (NF 1-4) did have ring marks (something I have never encountered with Larue mounts). This is the only Bobro mount I currently have, so I have no idea if this is normal.

I am posting this in an effort to be as honest as possible and fair with Larue Tactical. I am not posting this to start a pissing contest with anyone about which mount is better. And for the record, I do not care about minor marking of rails or scopes personally. Thanks for your time.

OMG! There are still some men left in the world. Nice clarification on your experiences.

I've never had issues with ANY LaRue mount removing the anodizing.  Maybe you're tightening it too much?

Respectfully, I want to avoid getting back into that issue. The only marks I've experienced were cosmetic, and did not effect function.

I have three Larue QD. mounts and all three mounts work great. Hell I ordered some index clips the other month when they started stocking colors other than black. I lost my wrenches to adjust the mounts and I ask for one and they included it with my order no charge ( thanks ML., and company). I will say this about qd. mounts I have a Surefire light with there qd. mount and not only is it marking up my beautiful larue 9.0 rail but It also deformed the damb thing where it hangs onto the rail.So much for self adjustmet that Surefire brags about
