Picking up my OBR in two hours and taking it out for some range time tomorrow.  Is .MIL 762 ammo GTG in the OBR?  I only ask b/c I have 5 boxes I got in a trade and would like to use them up if possible.

For real good results, try some 168gr Fed Gold Metal Match.  You can get it at a decent price at ammoman.com

For best results, roll your own.

For plinking, what you got is reliable.

I concur, should be fine.  About the only mil surplus 7.62 I wouldn't shoot is stuff like the Sellier and Bellot corrosive stuff out there.  Bolt rifle yes, semi auto like the OBR, no not me.

Personally I've shot German DAG and still have a large stash of British Radway Green 7.62 I'm working through with my OBR.  And I plan on buying more from Cope's Dist.  Its good stuff.

Contrary to what most people on here say and preach, its not feasible for most to exclusively run match ammo through their rifles for plinking.  Sure, the OBR is a precision tool, but I didn't buy it to just feed it only one type of ammo.  The OBR is capable of shooting far better than I can so it doesn't matter.  I just enjoy shooting it.

To me the OBR is not like a foo-foo show dog who only gets premium dog food, the damn dog is gonna eat whatever I give it.

I have also tried some mil-surp. Particularly the South African stuff. I can only get about one mag through it until it starts to jam, the bolt won't close. I shoot this stuff through my AR-10 without any problems. I have not had any problems with the federal match grade stuff I have.

This is Winchester White Box 762 ammo, I don't expect many problems with it.

Aim Surplus has FN Belgian 7.62 Nato for about $20/50.

It's berdan primed, but n/c.

I haven't seen any 7.62 for $400 per case.
