Have a SCAR and I have ordered the 4XDOS (LT-100) for the ACOG that I am mounting. Is there any issue with mounting it backwards? Not trying to be tacticool, just don't want to rip my finger off when using the charging handle on the left side. Could move the handle to the right, but it seems very natural to charge with my support hand.
Thanks for the great products and the awesome schwag! Quick edit, the mount backwards, not the sight! |

It's just the same either way. I don't have any problem mounting my buddy's backwards. I don't know if there's any downside to it, but I can't imagine it. I'm pretty sure its not the same either way. Granted I have never mounted my buddies backwards, so I can't really say from experience, but I would imagine there is A LOT of difference. |

I love how none of you LaRue guru fellas have answered the OP's question. We don't call ourselves gurus and we do not presume to know all the answers or try to pull answers out of our a$$es. If we don't know for certain we refrain from giving out advice. After all, it's more harmful to give false information than to give no information at all. |

I know a few of the guys that replied in the thread have that mount as well, so I was just surprised they didn't answer him. Granted, my response was a bit more humorous... |

....and all the gheys took that to have a different meaning. Go figure. Of course, only teh ghey would even think about "mounting a buddy" and what not. You can't cum back on that one bushy.... Even if you bust out more Arfcoms by saying it teh gheys and what not..

Wow, after the beating bushy got, I am going to word this VERY carefully....
Is there any issue with mounting the Larue Tactical LT-100 ACOG scope mount in the reverse position (not cowgirl) on an FNH SCAR, putting the compression levers of the LT-100 on the right side of the weapon, so as not to interfere with the charging handle that is mounted (not in a sexual manner) on the left side? Damn, I hope I disclaimed that enough. Thanks for the help (in a totally non-sexual way). |

I will give this a go. The LT100 will mount backwards on the rail, however, you have just reversed the directions that the mount opens up. This is fine and dandy for a range gun. If this rifle is to be fielded, depending on the surroundings, the forward (normally the rear) would stay locked, but the rear (normally the front) could catch on something and be opened potentially loosening the mount....... |
|
Update. Mission Accomplished!
Mount works fine when reversed, and with the locking handle I'm not too worried about knocking it loose. Feels good to have a bit of Texas on this furrin waffle rifle. Put me down as a member of Team, Pack, Gaggle, Swarm, School, Clutch, Murder, Pod, Nye, Covey,or Herd Larue! |

Another update, mount works fine when reversed. 100 yds with the ACOG and SCAR, .8 inch 5 shot group. Removed the scope, re-installed and shot another 5 rounds with a 1.1 inch group. Now just need to work on the shooter, not the rifle. And damn, the SCAR is loud. Time to start looking at a can.
Thanks LaRue! |

For future refrence LaRue makes a "Left Handed" version of the LT-100 ACOG Mount The LT-622 I beleive is the number. It's not on the website but if you call they have always had one in stock when I've needed them. Now that I say this someone will buy them all up and I won't be able to get anymore.
