I edited my number on the contest, but it looks like the people who edited aren't added to the DQ'd list.
Can anyone please confirm this? Alex |

Do a search for past posts and read them! Thats what I did! Rules are pretty easy! 1.) need to be an AR15.com member 2.) Pick 1-2000 3.) do not edit post. THATS IT!! Quoted: Nice...Wouldn't a rule sheet with the thread maybe help people that are new to the contest out? |
|
I've spent quite a bit of money with Larue and would have like to have been valid in this contest. It sucks that I was told to add a number and nothing else, but couldn't find the rules to let me know exactly what will be considered a DQ...
Just asking for something that might have been a little help to myself and other before I was DQ'd. Thanks A search was done before my number was entered. I came up with; 1) Do not edit the font and 2) Just choose a number. |

"If you don't know the rules, then don't post, as posts shot out into the dark can get somebody killed." -Mark LaRue Just sayin. If you would have asked, someone would have told you. |

Quoted: Okay, it's April 1st and we all know everything you hear on April 1st ain't the gospel ... This ain't your last chance per se to win a Stealth Upper, but it damn sure is your last chance to win the April 2010 Until hell Freezes Over Giveaway upper. If you don't know the rules, then don't post, as posts shot out into the dark can get somebody killed. Oh, and this pic is about a rifle we're slaving away at here on the farm ... More news to follow. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/mfingar/April_2010_Calendar_lr.jpg Damn, looks like a dang tie for our TexasSpec BCG ... I'll get one of them cut in half and shipped out. It's right there in the first post. If you don't know the rules, then don't post Yet you posted (and edited) when you didn't know the rules and are crying about it now? Is that correct? |

I read Mark's quote "If you don't know the rules, then don't post, as posts shot out into the dark can get somebody killed." As posted above I did ask around before I posted and was given the answer I posted above.
This is one of the reasons I bought my membership and have been waiting for this for 2 weeks. I'm just a little disappointed I have to wait another month and the last week and a half on 12 hour mid-shifts have put me a little out wack. Hell the earth could come to an end within the next month.
I'll be waiting till next month I guess and thanks for the help. Alex |

Show me where the rules are posted? I did ask and search per M. Larue's request. I just happened to not get all of the correct answers.
Crying about it? Is trying to make things easier for the people who aren't familiar with the process a bad thing? Before giving your advice, fully understand the situation at hand... Alex |

Hey at least you knew about the contest. I didn't know about the UHFO until 3 or 4 months before my Team Membership expired.
So I renewed my membership and the following month I won a Texas Spec'd BCG from Mark because I made first post in the contest, last months that is. I got an OBR BCG by mistake, but they straightened it out and got me the one I was supposed to get. Mark is good people and I thank him for all that he does, not just the contest.
Pack LaRue ( I got to update my sig. )

You also get the upper from just having the first post? Damn I'm missing out on a lot of info. No, but you will get a BCG if you make the first post. Contest rules: 1: Only Team Members are eligible, or see above. 2: Select a number from 1 to 2,000, and post it. 3: Only one post per person. 4: Posting more than once = disqualification. 5: Posting one face along with different fonts now encouraged !!. 6: Editing your post = disqualification. 7: Font, color, or size matters not. In the event more than one person selects the same number, the random number generator will select a number from a pool equaling the number of duplicate posts. For example: If 3 members select the same number, the generator will be asked to select a number from 1 to 3. If the number is 2, the second person to post wins. If the number is 1, the first person to post wins. In the event the generator selects a number that was not picked by a member, the generator will select another number, until it lands on a number that was picked by one or more members. And don't bitch at us, but for various State Dept. regs and their ITAR reasons, we will not pick nor ship to someone outside the U.S. So, we won't be sending goods to a winner OCONUS, say with a Hong Kong address. We love all you foreign ARFcommers, but at the same time, we hate the look of the inside of a prison. So, without further ado ... I suggest you closely follow the instructions or Mr. mnd will ferret you out and sling your sorry butts over the side. Good luck ... ... and from all of us here at Team LaRue http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=2&f=219&t=173270 ETA: Maybe the rules should be tacked to avoid confusion in the future.
