Two choices from LaRue, the inline and the offset mount, which one to get?

I have a Surefire 6P and I need to mount it to my 7" LaRue rail.  I also don't run any VFGs or AFGs which should make a diffrence.  I have tried holding the light along side the rail and acquiring a normal grip to envision which one to order but am not having much luck.  Just need some opinions.

Thank you

I was not sure, so got a plastic off set mount to try.

Friday, ordered the LT 606 mount. as mounted on right side with Surefire down, can use the LT FUG. with it mounted across the bottom, looks like it's good to go with a standard grip without the FT FUG.  A dang nice FUG it is.

Can you zip tie your 6P to your rail to see how your light would mount using a LT inline mount?  Better than trying to hold in place.

If you don't have a VFG, then I've found the offset mount in this position is most comfortable.

It attaches the light where your thumb can get to it easily.

Mark, whats clamped around the flash hider  ????

Guess my thumbs are in a different position (old and slightly bent). Will be fun getting the LT 606 set up.

It's a CSAT XS GAT...glass breaker

and when not using a VFG, I hold the rifle about 3/4 the way down the grip, with my thumb at 10:00. The nice thing about the LT606, is you can mount it two different ways on each face of the quad-rail, for a total of 8 different positions...you'll find a spot that works for you.

Thanks for the glass breaker information Mark.

I should be able to find a position with the LT 606 to use with the FUG and them reposition for standard grip. OR just get another LT 606 if the light needs reversed ...

I run the online mount, at the 9 o'clock position on the rail, and a FUG at the 6 o'clock position. I don't wrap around the FUG, instead just hooking the last two fingers of my left hand on the front of it, and the first and second fingers cupping the bottom rail with my thumb up towards the top pointing forward. I can drop my thumb down to activate the tailcap on the light, or if I'm shooting weak-hand drills I wrap my right hand around the FUG and can reach the light with my right thumb. It was easier for me to do it this way and reach the light whichever hand was in front than with the offset mount.

Thanks for the replies.   Will have to give the offset mount a try first I think.

I'm going to get the inline mount and light combo.

ETA: But after looking at some pics I think I'll go with the offset mount and light combo.

I use what the Magpul guys call the "half retard" grip with my VFG and the 606 works perfectly for me.  It keeps it far enough to the side that it doesn't put pressure on the button on my front Troy BUIS like the VTAC mount did.
