Here's a quick video we shot today of the OBR shooting at 500 meters. Unfortunately, we chose a day with terrible conditions. The wind was blowing around 30 mph at the 10 o'clock direction and it was pretty cold. The video was shot with a Canon 5d MkII looking through a Leupold spotter. I didn't load much yesterday, so i ended up shooting mil surp 150gr ball. Considering the ball ammo and the horrible changing wind, I'll consider the results good. I hit 8 out oof 14 here shooting pretty quickly. Without the wind, I'm guessing I could have hit all 14 pretty easily based on how the rifle has performed in the past. Next to come is a video through the spotter at 1000 yards in HD. We hould be getting out to 1000 the week after SHOT.

Sorry the quality of the video isn't better, but we striuggled to get the tripods braced against shooting benches to get a bit of stability and that made for a suboptimal setup for shooting video.

Here's the max wind when the kestrel was out. There's no question that it was blowing harder than that though.

Here's a view of the range. The ram I shot at is circled at 500 Meters

And just for fun, here's the video I shot the other day of a mag dump.

Thanks to 308Sako and Simple06 for filming and spotting.

Yesterday we missed the opportunity for the photo of the year. We had serious weather which was subject to sudden change and a major Rainbow occured over the Red Rock Canyon area to out SW. If we had been properly positioned we could have had Joe stand in front of the Latrine with the OBR in his hands and this incredible force 5 rainbow directly behind him. I guess not everything works out as we plan it. Sorry Mark.

FWIW:   I still believe that this rifle is one of the finest rifles I have ever had the pleasure to handle, shoot, and admire the concept behind it.  The OBR will become a classic.

The day began: boresight the NF

Then the LR video setup in the screaming wind

Yes it is the last berm fellas

Nice.  Is that the NF 3.5x15 or 5.5x22?

I had no idea you could get earmuffs at L.L. Bean...

Did the F1 work well on the OBR? Nice shooting, guys.

It's the 3.5-15, and unfortunately it's not the F1. Nevertheless, it is an awesome optic, and as far as I'm concerned it dominates everything else in the $1000-$1500 price range.

And yes, 308Sako does have LL Bean Ear protection.
