Ferrari Chat - Rossa Forum

Discussion started on a basic AR-15 question and quickly metamorphosed into a OBR discussion with the Proprietor/Administrator of FChat, who ordered his OBR last year.  The thread is in a subscribed or "Rossa" section.

It should not come as any big surprise that the typical exotic car enthusiast/owner is also a gun, watch and big screen TV nut.     For what it's worth, I'm not the only LaRue fan who is also a frequent FChat poster.  I'll leave it to "that other guy" to chime in!

Mark,

Found this one while on a BING search

Obviously this "Brian" character is super pro Swan. You know what they say......
"keep your friends close and your enemys closer."

Still awaiting more info on the 20"...got my order in.

Yeah that sounds like the same script as  the "factual" pro-ARMS poster someone found earlier.

I thought Mark changed the name because he didnt want to tempt ARMS in any way, not because there was an existing trademark that he knew of.

Besides, the gun became more marketed as a Battle rifle(short barrel, folding stock), less sniper/DMR(longer  barrel, fixed stock+adjustable cheek rest, though the 20MOA rail stayed) rifle during development so why not change the name.

18"-20" info seems to have become a state secret at Larue, wish it wasnt true but it is, though someone on snipershide said they were told about 30 days (when Alred called me last week he said "no estimate when the 18-20 will be out" before even asking whether I would take a 16" or not).

Sounds like an A.R.M.S. employee. Better have them check that poster's account and IP address to see if it's Sharon Swan again.

My wife and I already have AR-15's with 16" barrells for work purposes.
I desire the OSR   (oops.... Ode to "Big" Richard Swan) OBR purely for selfish reasons.

Hey mark.... Kentucky makes some of the best bourbon.....any chance of bribing you for info????

Thanks all, keep 'em coming.  It warms my heart to read such satisfied user AARs.

Well, just as soon as I get my 20" I'll be more than happy to start a thread here and elsewhere with an AAR.

I'd love to help you but can't.

ETA:  The first link is a little sparse (it's a recent thread, and may be worth checking into later, as it's on a .308 specific forum), but the second one is more promising.

If I have the good fortune to get mine while the weather is still cold (it's been 0 F to -20F here for a bit), I promise to put it's through it's paces and give a cold weather review.
