I was putting together a new 12.5" upper for one of my SBRs, and wanted to use a LaRue 11" handguard.  After installing it, the Troy front sight was noticeably canted.  I took it off and reinstalled it two more times.  But, each time it was off.  Also, I could not attach my EoTech 553.  It would not lock on when trying to bridge the gap from the receiver to the rail.

I called LaRue and they said to ship the upper, barrel and handguard to them, and they'd fix it.

One of their engineers went over my upper and there is a major problem. The upper receiver, like most, is forged. It is true and the top rail is straight, flat and in spec. However, the threads to accept the barrel nut are not cut concentric to the long axis of the upper. So, not only won't a railed handguard line up properly, the barrel is also slightly canted.

They "found" a billet upper in stock, despite their scarcity.  They're putting it all together and I should have it in a week or so.

I'd just like to say thanks for the great customer care and service!

I've never shopped with LaRue, but they are first on  my shopping list, just because of all the good feedback I've gotten from them.

I have an out of spec upper laying around here, too...

Too bad problems from LT are so scarce, maybe if I had one I'd be able to score some free upgrades like I hear the stories about. I guess the only reasonable thing to do is to keep buying from them until they mess one up... I'm going to need a lot more money
