Gents - I was just reading in the optics forum about the knock off mounts from china you are now being forced to deal with. Realistically, because their government doesn't give a rats ass about our IP, it's a lost cause. Even if you did manage to shut down one shitbag another would spring up in it's place. Here's my suggestion. Put engrave the following on the side of your mounts in deep, bold lettering. "CHINA SUCKS GOAT BALLS" If they want to counterfeit your gear then, they're going to have to include that as well. You won't win, but at least you can give them the proverbial finger for every knockoff they make. |

Maybe put that phrase about sucking in Chinese?  It would take up less room on the rails, if the details could be made to fit. If only there was a way to be a fly on the wall in the (reverse) engineering department in the Chinese plant when they got their hands on that bad boy.  -Tom |

That sends a pretty clear message. I'm sure someone on here can come up with something really creative. :P |

Mao is a tempting target, but China, while never fully repudiating him, has been slowly but surely distancing itself from him for decades now. Any mention of Taiwan would be good, but freedom for Taiwan really represents an intermediate opinion and is not the most offensive position to Red China. It would be great to find a two word summary of the position that mainland China is in fact rightfully the territory of the Republic of China on Taiwan and that Taiwan's ultimate destiny, far beyond gaining de jure independence, is to reclaim the mainland. A Tinananmen reference would be good, too. |

Mark - I ordered the regular SPR mount a day or two back and it was on my front step in Glendale on schedule. Thanks for the quick turn around. But what the hell... Where was my custom engraving of "China sucks!" Excellent product by the way. Talk about industrial strength hardware. |
