From what I can tell, the company doesn't have the best reputation here, but you guys have an excellent rep. The price is right at 40.00, but what has your history been with this lower and customer satisfaction? |

The grip screw is not tapped all the way through. I would suggest cutting off a 1/4" off the grip screw before you tighten the grip screw down.
Yes it can be a problem as I had 2 with this problem. One I was able to drill out and re-tap and other I cut up with a band saw.
You get what you pay for. |

You get what you pay for. Weird. I've used lots of the Anderson lowers and none exhibited that behavior. Worked with GI grips/screws and the shorter Magpul grips/screws. |

Andersons are fine. Milspec and cheap. Election coming, $40 is a steal, buy many
Only complaints I've ever read are minor finish flaws and that the grip screw threads on some of them aren't threaded all the way through. The solution is just using a shorter grip screw. Anderson lower parts kits have the shorter screw. Or you can just pick up one from the hardware store for .25 cents I've built about 3 ARs with them and have several more put back. |
i have personally built about 20 of them (none from aim). when i see a stripped lower at the lgs for $50 out the door i buy all the my wallet allows me at the time. out of the 20 or so that i have bought i had one during the panic of '12 that the front pivot pin hole was slightly out of spec. a small wooden dow with 2 grits of sandpaper (abrasive, and less abrasive ) a drill set to low speed and one episode of cops later and i had the best fitting pivot pin you have ever seen.
would buy again. |
